Monday’s all class cattle sale and small animal special featured 200 head of cattle and 175 head of small animals on a steady market. Slaughter cows were steady, with demand for good high yielding cows still strong. Cows averaged $155.00-$161.00, with a top end of $181.00. Young replacement and feeding cows were stronger Monday, ranging from $200.00-$265.00 per hundred weight. There were quite a few bulls on offer, and the cull bull market was steady to $5 lower. Bulls topped out at $200.00, with an average price of $189.00. Demand for yearling steers remains strong, while light calves are still early for much feeder interest. 400-500 weight steers brought $375.00 and averaged $362.00, while same weight heifers brought up to $370.00. 500-600 weight steers sold up to $390.00, with an average of $368.00, while heifers topped out at $355.00 and averaged $328.00. Steers 600-700 pounds sold for $347.00, and averaged $341.00. Heifers weighing 600-700 averaged $309.85, with a top of $320.00. 700-800 weight steers sold up to $307.50, with an average of $280.00, and heifers sold for up to $270.00. On the small animal side, lambs weighing 80 pounds brought up to $292.00, and averaged $275.00, while 100-120 pound lambs sold for $275.00 and averaged $268.00.
