Monday’s all class cattle sale featured an excellent run of cull cows and bulls, and a light offering of feeder cattle.  Slaughter cows were steady this week, with cows holding despite the seasonal influx that traditionally would lead to a dip in the market.  The top end of the cows brought up to $155.00-$160.00, while the average price of $140.00-$145.00 came across the board.  Slaughter bulls were steady to slightly higher, with a top of $176.00 and an average price $161.00-$165.00.  We should see these prices hold up to the Memorial Day holiday and into June leading up to the 4th of July.  On the feeder side we had a light run and not a true market test, though demand for bigger calves and yearlings remains very robust.  Grass calf demand is also still strong on the lighter end, and we expect another several weeks of very high demand for light calves to fill grass pasture.  Next Monday, May 12th, we will have a feeder special, and already have several good consignments and expect a good run of feeder and grass calves.  If you have any questions or would like to consign, please reach out anytime.
