Monday’s feeder special featured a good run of cows and bulls, and quite a few good groups of calves, with the heavier end doing especially well.  Slaughter cows were steady to $3 higher on the average, with the top end of the cows bringing up to $166.00, and an average price of $151.00-$161.00.  Slaughter bulls were steady, bringing $176.00 on the high, and averaging $165.00 to $170.00.  Feeder cattle were steady, with 400-500 weight steers bringing $380.00 per cwt, and same weight heifers selling for $327.50.  500-600 pound steers sold for $342.00 at the high, while heifers brought $300.00.  600-700 weight steers topped out at $315.00, while heifers brought up to $295.00.  700-800 and 800-900 weight steers both had a top price of $288.00, with heifers bringing $254.00-$260.00.  Next Monday July 7th we’ll be off, but we’ll be back Monday July 14th with a feeder sale.  Happy 4th of July to everyone, and don’t hesitate to give us a call if you’ve got any questions or would like to consign.
