Market Update 11-16-2020

Monday’s November Carload Special featured over 2200 head of cattle, with a strong feeder market and cows steady.  The feeder market was significantly stronger on Monday, with strong demand and buyer participation, especially on large lots of uniform calves that have had 2 rounds of vaccinations.  Cut-outs, irregular or uneven cattle face a steep discount on today’s market.  500-600 weight steers averaged $1.50, up to $1.67 per pound.  Same weight heifers topped out at $2.25, with an average of $1.25.  600 to 700 weight steers had a top price of $146.50, and averaged $1.40 per pound.  Heifers in that weight topped out at $1.44, with an average of $127.75.  700-800 pound steers had a top price of $146.50, with an average of $1.35.  Slaughter cows were even week to week, and averaged $.48 to $.51 cents per pound, with a top price of $.56 cents.  Slaughter bulls averaged $.70-$.74, with a top of $.76.  Next Monday, November 23rd will be an all class cattle sale, and our next Feeder Special will be Monday, November 30th.  If you have questions or would like to consign, please give me a call anytime.
