Market Update 1-18-21
Monday’s feeder special featured over 750 head of mostly 500-700 weight calves. Slaughter cows were steady to higher on a light run, with a top of $.62 cents and an average price of $.51-$.52. Feeder cattle were stronger, with an excellent run and good buyer demand. 500-600 weight steers brought up to $1.72, with an average price of $1.52. 500-600 weight heifers brought $1.35 at the top, averaging $129.64. 600-700 weight steers brought $1.51, with an average of $141.83, while same weight heifers brought $130.50, averaging $128.61. Next week we’ll have a regular cattle sale, though we expect a good run of calves, and our next feeder special will be Monday, February 1st.
