Market Update 04/29/2024

Monday’s feeder special featured over 600 head, with a good run of feeders and a strong cow market again.  Slaughter cows were steady to higher, with a top price of $1.40, and an average price of $1.22-$1.28.  Slaughter bulls were up, topping out at $1.56, and averaging $1.45.  Cow calf pairs brought $2550-$2800 on younger to mid aged cows with fresh calves at side.  Feeder cattle were stronger on the heavier end, and steady to mixed on the light end.  500-600 weight steers topped out at $300.00, and averaged $265.00, while same weight heifers brought $265.00 at high and averaged $243.68.  600-700 weight steers sold for a high of 266.00, and averaged $254.19.  700-800 weight steers topped out at $265.00, and averaged 232.50, heifers bringing 222.50 at the high.  Next Monday, May 6th, we’ll have an all class cattle sale, and our next feeder sale will be Monday, May 13th.  If you have any questions or would like to consign please give us a call anytime.
